Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, published in the Official Journal on 24 July 2026, resets the application date for Sections 1 to 3 of Chapter III of the AI Act: 2 December 2027 for Annex III high-risk systems, employment included, and 2 August 2028 for AI embedded in regulated products. The Article 26 deployer duties themselves read exactly as described here, and the point about who carries them holds. What changed is when they bite. The US state deadlines on this list are now the nearer ones.
